Tagline & Notes

"The knock at the door meant the birth of a man and the death of seven others". Peckinpah's notorious, ultra-violent revenge crime thriller is set in a quiet Cornish coastal town. Based on the novel The Siege of Trencher's Farm by Gordon M . Williams, it features a nervy Hoffman as the mild-mannered academic forced into explosive action when his young wife is brutally raped. Still a tough watch, the film was central to the debate in the 1970s about screen violence and our reaction to it.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There are two different one-sheets for this film, one with a full image of Hoffman's face and the other with a half image coupled with reviews. This is the rarer, more sought after full image design - a classic poster image that sums up the film perfectly.
