Tagline & Notes

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THIS POSTER: This is a very rare original French poster from 1940. Although the film was originally released in Germany in 1933, a French version of the film was simultaneously shot with the German one, so it is possible this poster is for the French release version. This may explain why the names of the French actors feature more prominently on the poster than Rudolf Klein-Rogge, the undoubted star of the film, who plays the master criminal of the title, Dr. Mabuse. It is also possible that as Lang's great film may have been released in France in 1940 as WW2 was underway, the French distributors deliberately downplayed the names of the German cast in favour of the French cast! Either way, this wonderful poster is extremely rare, indeed any posters for this title are extremely scarce.
